The staff were incredibly friendly and helpful, assisting in booking tours and trips, arranging airport pick up as well as giving recommendations to local attractions and restaurants. They helped us get access to local free Wi-Fi and were always around to answer our questions. Every morning started with fresh cooked breakfast with juice, coffee and local produce, absolutely delicious. The room was incredibly clean with a beautiful view from the balcony onto the street bellow.
Would recommend to anyone travelling or planning a holiday in Havana!

We had a huge bedroom and a big lounge area, lots of space. Balcones is a wonderful restored colonial building in the heart of Havana Vieja minutes from Plaza Vieja and lots of restaurants and cafes. Richard and all his staff are amazing and go out of their way to ensure a good stay. Breakfast is excellent (fruit, bread, vegetables, eggs) and the 3 course dinner we had here (€35 for 2) was very good. They have a lovely dining/bar area where you can sit and relax with a drink. No problems booking city tour or collectivo taxi on to Vinales. As Balcones is an old building in an old part of Havana there were some issues, the water pressure was poor in the shower, our bed was not the most comfortable. The hosts were very nice - especially Frank and Juana were incredibly... read more kind and helpful and came to talk to us every day. The streets are alive and loud until late at night! So if you are a light sleeper maybe request a room that doesn't face the street. For us it was not a problem. Everything is walking distance which is very comfortable! The breakfast was great. Unfortunately the airconditioning is not very strong and when we were there the WiFi was not working. If these things are important to you then double check if it works better before your trip starts.
