  What an incredible place to stay in the heart of Havana. We knew we wanted to stay at a private business, as anything else is operated by the Cuban government... read more (please look up how to keep your tourism money out of their hands) and we took the plunge on Balcones Muralla. Rooms are clean, staff is outrageously friendly, generous, and helpful. We could not have picked a better place to stay. This is the place we will always come back to on our future travels to Cuba as Americans.

All of the staff were helpful and attentive but Tony... read more was gracious enough to take us on a private tour of the city centre, answering all our burning questions about Cuba and Havana and enlightening us  on the history of this truly unique city.

They really made our stay here special and are wonderful people! 

The owner Richard is really welcoming and lovely and was a huge help so big thanks too!



Our one piece of general advice would be to make sure you bring lots of cash with you to Cuba! The exchange rate at the ATM here is so bad that you’ll end up paying 4x the price for everything!! More
