We would definitely recommend Tony's walking tour as he has a wealth of knowledge, and he is keen to be asked questions. After years of restrictions, the property is a little tired in places, but it does retain all its old-world charm and if the owners could get the roof top bar re-vamped, there would be an ideal spot to get away from the hustle and bustle of the city. The only cautionary tale is the very steep stairs from the street up to either the first or second floor. If you have mobility issues this would probably no be the most ideal choice. The highlight is probably sitting on the balconies at breakfast watching the world go by and experiencing how the real people of Havana start their day. All the tourist spots are well within walking distance and we both felt totally safe walking through the streets.

The staff were very friendly and so helpful, assisting in booking one classic car tour we did, arranging airport pick up as well as giving recommendations for local restaurants and where we could find essentials like SIM cards. They were always around 24/7 to answer our questions or make us a cocktail on the balcony. The room was as described with air-con & a lovely balcony. Unfortunately there was noise from the street in the evenings, but that tended to die down before midnight and we understood it was nothing the hotel could control.
Would recommend to anyone travelling or planning a holiday in Havana to get a real taste of Cuban life. Would happily return and start there again.

It is a 5min walk from everything that is worth seeing in the old town.

So if you are a light sleeper maybe request a room that doesn't face the street. For us it was not a problem. Everything is walking distance which is very comfortable! The breakfast was great. Unfortunately the airconditioning is not very strong and when we were there the WiFi was not working. If these things are important to you then double check if it works better before your trip starts.
