As country dwellers we found the sights and non-stop sounds of Habana vieja... read more initially somewhat bewildering and this place is right in the middle of it. We won't repeat what others have said about the fabulous staff, welcoming attitude and nice breakfasts as it's all true. As a helpful comment for possibly older travellers there are steep stairs up to the reception and rooms, and the street outside can be noisy at night so earplugs might come in handy. Overall this is a place to experience Havana in the raw. It's safe and so much more authentic than the sterile city centre hotels. PS: They serve cocktails in teapots with a straw!

... read more /> The hotel is full of interesting artefacts, vintage items and paintings to enjoy, it has a great balacony to allow you to absorb the atmosphere (and spot cars), the staff are delightful, they really could not do more to help.

I recommend it and hope that you enjoy your stay as much as we did.

Our room was so charming and the bed comfortable. The location is spot on and walking distance to all the sights. This place oozes character and charm and gave us such a more memorable experience than a normal hotel. The breakfast is abundant and fresh everyday and we looked forward to it every morning, sitting on the terrace watching the daily life zoom past below. Despite its location in the heart of Old Havana, in the night it was quiet and peaceful. The only small negative is a slight smell from the plumbing but when you are staying in older renovated buildings such as this it is normal, and didn’t bother us.
What makes this place extra special is the wonderful people who work there, like Chris who helped organize everything and made us feel so comfortable

It is a 5min walk from everything that is worth seeing in the old town.
