The next highlight was the breakfast - 4 courses of amazing food: fruit salad, a lovely composition of vegetagles, eggs and a sweet surprise :-) it was delicious ! In the evening we had some drinks on the balcony - the owner Richard makes fantastic drinks - I fell in love with the Pina Colade...

But the best of the hostal was the crew:
Richard & Yoris made us feel welcome and comfortable, recomanded places and bars to go, organized a cardrive in a pink convertible and a taxi to the airport or just had a nice and funny chat with us. Richard showed us his house and the roof top bar (not opened - still in construction...I would really like to come back to see the bar!).

We will fall short talking about our stay because we might leave something out so we will sum up our visit to Havana as glorious and our stay at Balcones Murallas as splendid and "counting the days to return". If you want to get a real feel for Cuba, La Havana and its people, you must stay at Balcones Murallas and experience it yourself. This place has everything... location, location, location, cleanliness, decor, attentive staff, good food, and a real taste of the city . The tableware and the mojitos teapots are delightful. Just go there!!! They will arrange everything for you, since arrival until the time that you are reluctantly ready to depart.

One note, if you are travelling to Cuba do not transfer your money at the airport, wait until you arrive in Havana and do it at your hotel or in a restaurant, much better exchange rate.
